At Sumed we carry out Manufacturing of a various Customized PTFE products using Virgin and various Filled Grades Resins for a variety of Applications. PTFE is chemically inert to almost all known substances including corrosive liquids, vapors and gases. PTFE also has excellent electrical and dielectric properties and its low coefficient of friction makes it an ideal choice for applications requiring slipperiness and durability.

Gaskets

Sumed is a recognized leader in the development, production and delivery of solid PTFE gaskets and seals. Our seals are designed to deliver excellent purity, low stress to seal, chemical compatibility, as well as reduced creep and cold flow characteristics. Another advantage of our gaskets is their use in a variety of sealing applications, including use with misaligned, damaged, or rough sealing surfaces. Our PTFE gaskets are produced in all of the standard ANSI Flange Sizes. Special sizes and thickness available upon request.

We have the ability to customize or enhance any standard PTFE gaskets with Fillers or reinforcements to meet your unique applications. Our customers include companies in the semiconductor, chemical processing, food, pharmaceutical, aerospace and telecommunications industries. Our in house quality control ensure that you receive the quality product you expect.

VALVE SEALS & SEATS

PTFE Seat Rings are made from either compression molded virgin PTFE or filled PTFE materials to the user's exact specifications up to 24" in diameter on our 1250 ton press. Typically used for critical applications, these PTFE seals are ideal for use when corrosive liquids, high pressures or distinct pressure variations are present. Custom large and small diameter seals will ensure minimal maintenance downtime and repair.

Our custom PTFE seals are self lubricating and have a long service life due to the material retaining its original properties over a long period of time and when exposed to oils, oxidizing agents and solvents. PTFE is also extremely corrosion resistant, especially to acids and harsh inorganic and organic chemicals. Additionally, the original properties of PTFE remain the same even after extended periods of exposure in salt water.

We can also offers Seats / Seals out of PP, DELRIN,NYLON, PEEK or other specified engineered plastic materials that are typically used in critical industries such as aerospace, automotive, chemical and offshore.

ENVELOPE GASKETS

Sumed manufactures a wide range of PTFE Envelope Gasket in various styles and sizes.

• Asbestos free PTFE jacketed envelope gaskets are available in the styles listed below:
• Slit Envelope Gaskets - are essentially ring gaskets with 0.020" thick leaves slit from the OD. These slit envelope gaskets are the most widely used gasket type in sizes for 1" to 12" OD.
• Milled Envelope Gaskets - are made from PTFE Bush, machined in standard sizes as well as various take-outs to accommodate your filler.
• Double Jacket Envelope Gaskets - these envelope gaskets are recommended for vacuum service. The design of double jacket envelope gaskets completely covers the filler material with two overlapping PTFE jackets for optimum protection from corrosive attack

PTFE BALLS

At Sumed we manufacture Precision Balls for applications where metals or alloys can not be used.
These Balls are highly functional in self lubricating conditions such as Ball Bearings.
In the fluid handling industry PTFE balls are used in Ball Valves that have contact with extremely Corrosive Liquids.

An added advantage of these PTFE Ball is that it has reduced maintenance costs and man hours in the field by eliminating the replacement of valve components subjected to corrosive environments.
These Balls are generally available out of Virgin PTFE, but Balls out of various Fillers can also be Manufactured as per the requirement / application of the Customer.

`O’ RINGS

At Sumed we Manufacture O-Rings out of 100% Virgin PTFE and fabricated to extremely close tolerances and to the highest industry specifications.

PTFE O-Rings are impervious to harsh chemicals, acids and gases.

PTFE O-Rings are an ideal solution for sealing applications where there are high temperatures and corrosive liquids or gases involved.

We offer a wide range of standard, custom and metric sizes produced in Virgin grade and reinforced fillers such as Carbon, Glass, Graphite and Bronze.

BELLOWS

At Sumed we design bellows as per standards and also as per Customer specifications / Drawings for their applications. These Bellows have certain specific properties such as High Thermal Resistance, Good Elasticity, excellent Insulating Properties, Electric Conductivity, are Anti-adhesive & maintenance-free. We caters these Bellows to the following sectors: Engineering Sectors, Food Industries, Compressors, Pumps & Motors, Paper industries, Pharmaceuticals, Railways, Defence Services, Thermal Projects, Power Plants, Valve Industries, Electrical and Electronic Industries and Textile Industries.

PTFE STRIPS

These PTFE Bearing Strip, with a low coefficient of friction are used as a tape-type bearing material within a hydraulic system to prevent metal-to-metal contact

Strips are available in a variety of PTFE Fillers in various thicknesses to suit the application precisely.

BUTTERFLY VALVE SEAT

GLAND PACKING ROPE

These Packing (WHITE COLOUR) are Manufactured out of Raw film twists of pure PTFE dispersion Resins which are suitable for applications in Valves and Pumps used in Food Processing, Pharmaceuticals, Paper mills etc where high purity and corrosion resistance is required.

Packings (BLACK COLOUR) woven out of graphite PTFE yarn twisted through a mixture of PTFE Resins and Fine Graphite Powder plus moderate amount of heat-resistant lubricant are also available. Apart from its corrosion resistance, it has thermal conductivity and self-lubricating properties, and is suitable as Dynamic Sealing in places where media flow is at high linear velocity.
